The Game
What to do if a student discloses
If a student discloses during the session :
Stay in your role, not a counsellor's.
You don't need to investigate or resolve anything in the moment - your job is to respond calmly and follow your school's existing child-safety reporting process.
Acknowledge without probing. "Thank you for telling me" is enough.
Avoid asking for details beyond what the student offers.
Follow your mandatory reporting obligations as per your school/jurisdiction's policy.
The game is a prompt, not a diagnostic tool. A disclosure prompted by the cards is handled should be handled with the designated procedure as with any other classroom disclosure.
